Applications for Elderly (60+) and Special Needs NOAA Weather Radios are now available at the Salvation Army offices (2902 Greensboro Avenue). If members of your faith-based group match eligibility and need a NOAA Weather Radio, please visit the Salvation Army to pick up applications, which must be returned by close of business on Friday, February 16, 2007.
Because applications are printed in triplicate, please retain one copy; your applicant keeps one copy and the third goes to Tuscaloosa County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters who applied for funds to purchase the NOAA Weather Radios.
The 2,000 radios (approximately 500 are set aside for those with special needs) will be distributed during Severe Weather Awareness Day at McFarland Mall on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. For further information or questions, please contact Major Mark Smith at the Salvation Army (758-2804).
